Important Notes

Cotton Camera Carrying Systems involve moving parts that must be maintained periodically.

INSTALL THE CAMERA ON THE STEADYSHOT MOUNTING PLATE – use the included tightening tool (Allen Key), tighten the camera mounting bolt as TIGHTLY AS POSSIBLE. Adequate tightening is what keeps your camera securely attached to the mounting plate. Check it until you are satisfied it is snugged down enough.

Frequently check the tightness of the mounting bolt so camera maintains a stable connection to the plate.

Tripod Compatibility

The CCS SteadyShot - mount only does not include our Universal Tripod Adapter plate. If you would like to go directly from the SteadyShot to your favourite tripod you will need this plate. Buy a Universal Tripod Adapter plate here.

This plate is compatible with most tripod heads on the market. It is cut to fit directly into any Arca-Swiss style head. Designed with enough adjustment holes to slide back and forth on the bottom of your camera to leave the battery door accessible.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use the tripod or quick release?

The hardware has a tripod holed milled into it for tripod use. If you use quick release we recommend the Universal Tripod Adapter Plate or Universal Arca Swiss L-Bracket.

    Women's sizing

The harness system is one size fits all with 6 points of adjustment. We get lots of positive feedback from woman photographers.

Sizing for larger or smaller individuals

The systems are one size fits all, spanning 26" to 57" inch waist measurements.

    Return Policy

3 week no questions asked returns and 3 year technical warranty.

Does the system work for large telephotos like a 600mm?

The carrier will not fail under the weight of your camera/lens setup. A 600mm will place your weight forward and for some, it becomes a bit awkward. The system will not fail, but it becomes a subjective matter of comfort.

Can I add another camera or binocular holster after?

Yes, we offer a modular side holster with camera or binocular hardware. Or the individual hardware for camera or binoculars can be purchased independently.

Can I put my camera into the binocular carrier's receiver? Or vice versa?

All hardware uses the same twist and lock system, so you can place your camera or binoculars interchangeably in any receiver.

    cumbersome BUT achieves the goal

This device is not something one would want to attach and walk around with all day. However, the point is for stability when a tripod is not what you want to use and for that, this is a great invention.

    New challenges

I bought this mount with the harness about a month ago. The harness is fine and I have used it a few times.
However, the steady mount is, as yet, untested. First there is no list of items that are supposed to be included, so I wasted a couple of hours trying to figure out how to attach my camera. Then I asked for help and was told that a 'universal' plate was missing. It was sent and arrived after 5 days I believe.
Still no helpful information. It took me an hour of so to realize that I either had to cannibalize my tripod or spend more money buying a quick release clamp to attach to the universal clamp which attaches to the mount.
A month later and I now have it ready to go.
My first outing suggests it will do the job - stabilizing my 150-600mm lens when it is not feasible to use and move around with a tripod. It is kind of awkward to find somewhere to stow the mount when tackling difficult terrain with the camera stashed in the harness.

    Tricky

The harness is great. But the SteadyShot arm is tricky. I’m trying to figure out how to attach my ball head to the SteadyShot plate. My ball head attaches via a 3/8 inch screw but there are no 3/8 inch screw holes in the SteadyShot plate. The SteadyShot arm does not come with instructions.

    SteadyShot w/CC Camera Harness

Have only had my SteadyShot for 3 days 8/31/21-9/3/21. The SS is solid well engineered equipment. I prefer to use Manfrotto monopod bullhead. There are 2 issues I've noticed when using big glass, Sony 70-400mm G2 with lens collar, is SS has to be taken apart and adjusted at both release points to get proper height because combination of ball head and lens collar raises camera view finder very high. Also wish there was way to lock down base of ball head to SS mount to keep it from turning like tge set screws on the Manfrotto monopod or tripod. The other issue is combined weight of big glass and ball head pulls harness forward putting extra pressure on shoulders and harness has no real adjustment to tighten the shoulder straps. I tried using the lens holding strap on the harness to keep the vertical bracket tight to harness. It helps but not really well. All that said it's still a good idea I hope will prove to be handy when I take it out to field.
